The Haslital Valley, Interlaken & the Jungfrau Region

Haslital Valley is located close to Interlaken, in the heart of Switzerland, where the pre-Alps meet the Alps. In this easternmost part of the Bernese Highlands, fascinating contrasts shape the landscape – from the rough beauty of the Grimsel Pass to the rolling hills of Hasliberg and the wide, green valley floor of the Aare River.

One of the most scenic Alpine landscapes, Haslital has attracted artists from as early as 200 years ago. The Reichenbach Waterfall at the mouth of Rosenlaui Valley has become part of literary history: it’s here that master detective Sherlock Holmes fell to his untimely death… only to be resurrected a few years later. Today, mainly hikers, mountainbikers, cyclists, winter sport fans and mountaineers are impressed with the quiet and magnificent panorama.
